"definition": "From the sources\nHead-Tail (tashābuh al-aṭrāf or radd al-ṣadr ʿalā al-ʿajz) is an Arabic rhetorical device based upon correspondence between words occupying significant positions at the extremities of textual units. The correspondence may involve repetition of the same word, phonetic similarity, or etymological relationship between words.[1][2][3][4]\nIn its most readily identifiable form, the last word of a sentence, hemistich, or verse reappears at the beginning of the following unit, such that the ending of one unit provides the beginning of the next.[2][3][4]\nʿAkkāwī (1996) records that al-Qazwīnī and the commentators on the talkhīṣ named this device tashābuh al-aṭrāf, and Ibn Abī al-Iṣbaʿ al-Miṣrī applied the name nishābuh al-aṭrāf, classifying it under al-tasbīgh.[1] Ibn Maʿṣūm al-Madanī considered the name tanāsubu al-aṭrāf more fitting, as better matching what the device is named for.[1]",
