"definition": "Meaningful Proper Nouns (al-tawjīh) is an Arabic rhetorical device in which the communicator incorporates a group of mutually related proper names or technical terms into an utterance so that the expressions function coherently within the discourse while also being recognisable as members of the related set.[1][2][3][4]\nAl-Hāshimī (2019) describes this as one of two forms called al-tawjīh, specifying in this form the use of a group or groups of terms belonging to sciences or arts, or mutually related names.[2] Nāṣif et al. (2012) likewise use the term al-tawjīh for the incorporation of mutually harmonious proper names,[1] while al-Nābulsī, as presented by Cachia (1998), illustrates the same general operation through a coordinated series of related technical terms.[3][4]\nThe term al-tawjīh is not used consistently across the rhetorical sources. Nāṣif et al. (2012) treat al-tawjīh and al-ibhām as distinct devices, reserving al-ibhām for speech admitting two contradictory interpretations.[1] Al-Hāshimī (2019), however, presents the contradictory-interpretation operation as the first of two forms called al-tawjīh, with the proper-name or technical-series operation represented here as the second.[2] ʿAkkāwī (1996) likewise records al-tawjīh for the contradictory-interpretation operation and separately presents al-ibhām as a name for that same operation.[5][6] The Encyclopedia therefore treats Deliberate Ambiguity and Meaningful Proper Nouns as separate devices according to their linguistic operations rather than treating all source uses of the term al-tawjīh as a single device.",
