    Operational Applications

    Research tools, procedures, or systems in which definitions, categories, or structures from the Encyclopedia are operationalised for annotation, identification, classification, coding, or other systematic analysis.

    BALAGHA Score

    The BALAGHA Score, a numeric scoring system for quantifying the density of rhetorical devices in Arabic texts. It uses the Arabic Rhetorical Device Taxonomy enable the systematic annotation and analysis of rhetorical devices across texts and datasets.

    AraMIP: Arabic Metaphor Identification Procedure

    The Metaphor, Simile, and Implicit Reference (Kināyah) definitions developed in the Encyclopedia are operationalised in the Arabic Metaphor Identification Procedure (AraMIP), a two-stage procedure for identifying and annotating metaphor and related figurative phenomena in Arabic text.[1]

    Empirical Applications

    Research resources and studies in which the Encyclopedia's taxonomy is used to annotate corpora, quantify rhetorical phenomena, compare texts, or generate empirical findings.

    The Balagha Corpus

    The Balagha Corpus is a corpus developed for the systematic annotation and quantitative analysis of rhetorical devices using the Arabic Rhetorical Device Taxonomy and its associated coding system.

    Extensions and Evaluations

    Research which evaluates, validates, extends, modifies, or systematically maps the Encyclopedia's taxonomy or its underlying analytical framework.
